About Matt's Pickle and Padel

Pittsburgh's first padel courts live in a converted 30,500-square-foot warehouse in Sewickley — and the vibe is pure un-country club. Matt's Pickle and Padel opened in March 2025 as the brainchild of Matt Ferrari, CEO of Gamma Sports, with a mission to make racquet sports accessible to everyone.

Matt's Pickle and Padel is an indoor padel and pickleball facility in Sewickley Township, just outside Pittsburgh. As the first venue to bring padel to Western Pennsylvania, it has quickly become a hub for players of all levels — from curious beginners to seasoned competitors.

The Courts

Matt's features 4 indoor padel courts with synthetic turf sourced from Spain and tempered glass enclosures, plus 6 indoor pickleball courts — all inside a warehouse with approximately 30-foot ceilings. The facility underwent a careful design process by NEXT Architecture, including acoustic treatment to manage ball echo in the large space and a color study to ensure players never lose sight of the ball.

Programs & Coaching

Matt's offers professional lessons for all skill levels, organized leagues and ladder play, weekly socials, and drop-in sessions. Clinics cover everything from beginner fundamentals to competitive strategy. The club also hosts tournaments, including the Matt's Moneyball series for both pickleball and padel. Student and senior membership packages are available alongside standard options.

The Experience

Matt Ferrari set out to build the opposite of an exclusive country club. As he puts it:

We want to knock down any barriers there are for people who want to try this.

The facility provides adaptive equipment and welcomes players of all abilities. The on-site pro shop carries rackets, balls, grips, and apparel, with demo gear and equipment rental available for newcomers.

Location & Getting There

Located at 301 Deer Run Road, Suite 200, in Sewickley Township — about 15 miles northwest of downtown Pittsburgh. The facility sits in a former Mygrant Glass warehouse with complimentary on-site parking.
