About Merion Cricket Club

Founded in 1865 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987, Merion Cricket Club stands as one of America's most prestigious private sports clubs. The club's legendary commitment to racquet sports now extends to padel, continuing a tradition of excellence spanning over 150 years.

The Courts

Merion offers 2 padel courts as part of its extensive racquet sports facilities. The Paddle Pavilion, completed in Phase II development (2019-2020), provides a dedicated space for paddle and padel with additional court capacity.

World-Class Racquet Facilities

Beyond padel, Merion's racquet sports complex includes 22 grass tennis courts on the Great Lawn, 12 Har-Tru courts, 4 indoor hard surface courts, 8 pickleball courts, 4 paddle tennis courts, and 10 squash courts. The club has played a leading role in promoting tennis, squash, and golf in the United States.

Private Membership

Merion Cricket Club is a private social club with 2,600 memberships and an active waitlist. The membership skews younger with an average age of 54. Full initiation is $38,000 with annual dues of $7,800.
