Padel AZ at Maracana Indoor Sports Arena holds the distinction of being Tucson's original padel facility, where owner Mladen Kozak planted the seeds that grew into the city's thriving padel community now numbering over 500 players.

About Padel AZ

Founded in 2023 by Bosnian native Mladen Kozak, who has called Tucson home since 1998, Padel AZ emerged from the enthusiasm of Maracana's indoor soccer customers. Kozak recognized the potential of padel and invested in courts to complement his successful indoor sports arena. What started with just 60-80 players has blossomed into a regional phenomenon.

Learn, have fun and some nice exercise to boot. Staff is very helpful. The environment is great. You can watch some soccer or play, and if the brewery is open enjoy the tap. Family friendly.

Courts & Facilities

The climate-controlled indoor facility features two panoramic padel courts alongside a large 150 x 60-foot turf field for soccer and other field sports. The multi-sport environment creates a unique atmosphere where families can enjoy different activities under one roof.

Equipment rentals including rackets and ball slingers are available, making it easy for newcomers to try the sport without investing in gear upfront.

Padel AZ offers regular open play sessions on Wednesday and Friday evenings for just $15 per person, creating an accessible entry point for players of all levels. Private lessons are available for those seeking personalized instruction, and seasonal leagues provide competitive opportunities.

Location & Atmosphere

Located inside Maracana at 555 E 18th Street, the facility offers a family-friendly environment with an on-site bar where players can enjoy a cold drink after their matches while watching soccer games on the adjacent field.
